Hamilton Park Racecourse - Season-Long Photography Partnership

Menu photography, raceday reportage, hospitality content and evening entertainment coverage across a full racing season.

Location: Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland

Client: Hamilton Park Racecourse

Scope: Food photography, event reportage, hospitality, vertical video

Partnership: Second season, ongoing collaboration

The project

Hamilton Park is one of Scotland's premier racecourses, just outside Glasgow. Each season runs from spring through to late summer, bringing together racedays, VIP hospitality experiences, themed evenings and large-scale entertainment events. The marketing team needs visual content that covers everything at once: website, social media, print and in-venue displays.

This is an ongoing seasonal partnership, now in its second year. What started as photography coverage for individual racedays has grown into a full visual content programme covering pre-season menu photography, vertical video for social media and reportage throughout the entire racing calendar.

What the work involves

Pre-season menu photography

Before the season opens, we photograph the complete menu across all hospitality venues at the racecourse. Food is central to the guest experience across the VIP lounges, restaurants and grandstand areas. The images need to work on the website, printed menus and as social media content throughout the season.

Each dish is photographed in its own context, using a combination of natural and controlled light that suits the character of each venue. Alongside the stills, I produce short vertical videos for Instagram and TikTok that show the food in motion, ready to use immediately.

Raceday reportage

Racedays have their own rhythm. From gates opening through the final race and into the evening. I move across the whole site and document the atmosphere where it is happening.

The focus is on guests enjoying food and drinks in the hospitality marquees, restaurants and VIP lounges, crowds on the grandstand, staff during service and the energy at the trackside. The goal is to show how well people are enjoying themselves and to present the racecourse as somewhere you want to be.

Evening entertainment

The biggest nights of the season, such as Ladies' Night, bring live performers, fashion shows, competitions and afterparties to the racecourse. These events are the most important content moments of the year for the marketing team.

I work from an agreed running order and make sure the key moments are covered. Delivery from these events is on a priority turnaround, with images delivered within 48 hours so the team can use the content while the event is still fresh.

What the racecourse receives

After each raceday the marketing team has a full set of reportage images ready to use straight away. Over the course of the season they build a visual library that covers every part of the venue and the hospitality offering.

The pre-season menu photography and video content provide the foundation for a full year of planned communication. Because the partnership runs continuously, the visual style stays consistent across all materials and the team does not need to manage multiple suppliers.

  • Menu photography for all venues in both landscape and portrait formats

  • Short vertical videos for social media

  • Reportage photography from every raceday

  • Priority 48-hour delivery for major events

  • Complete visual library for web, print and social media

A racecourse like Hamilton Park is not just about sport. It is a major social experience and the marketing has to show exactly that. When you have content from every raceday, the communication takes care of itself.
