Hotels on Loch Lomond — Interior & Exterior Photography
Guest rooms, spa, sauna and lakeside exteriors for two hotels on the shores of one of Scotland's most iconic locations.
Location: Loch Lomond, Scotland
Client: Two hotels on Loch Lomond
Scope: Guest rooms, spa, sauna, exterior photography
Project type: Interior and exterior hotel photography
The project
Loch Lomond is one of the most recognisable locations in Scotland and hotels on its shores compete in a segment where photography does a significant part of the selling. The client needed a complete set of images covering guest rooms, wellness facilities and the exterior of the buildings, ready for use on their own website and across partner booking platforms.
The project covered two properties with different characters. The larger hotel sits directly on the lakeshore and includes a restaurant, sauna and spa. The second property required a focus on exteriors and the surrounding landscape. Both needed a consistent visual standard that would work across all channels.
How we approached it
Preparation and room photography
Guest room photography was carried out in pre-selected and prepared rooms. Each room was empty, arranged and checked before shooting began. Lighting, placement of accessories and the overall feel of the space were all reviewed before a single frame was taken.
Working in empty, prepared rooms meant no disruption to guests and no improvisation on the day. That simplicity allowed full focus on the quality of each shot rather than managing logistics around an occupied hotel.
Spa and sauna
The wellness facilities at a busy hotel are rarely empty. Photographing the spa and sauna required identifying a window between guest sessions when the spaces were completely clear. Timing was everything and the schedule was built around that constraint from the start.
With the space empty, it was possible to work with natural light and controlled sources without any time pressure. The result is clean, open compositions that communicate the experience of the space rather than just its dimensions.
Exterior photography at dawn
Exteriors were photographed in the early morning. The reasoning is straightforward: the light on the water and the surrounding landscape is at its best, and guests are still inside, leaving the grounds clear.
The images show the hotels in their natural setting, with the loch and the Scottish landscape as the backdrop. These shots form the visual foundation for the hotel's presence on its website and across booking platforms where first impressions are made in seconds.
What the hotels received
A complete image set covering all categories needed for a full hotel presentation: guest rooms, wellness facilities and exterior views. Delivered in both landscape and portrait formats for website use, social media and booking platforms including Booking.com.
Hotels on Loch Lomond are competing against some genuinely spectacular destinations. Strong photography that captures the location, the atmosphere and the character of the property is one of the most direct influences on a guest's booking decision.

Loch Lomond sells itself. My job is to make sure the photography delivers that feeling before the guest even arrives.
